Other Info | Led by dynamic drummer Robert Jospé, this concert features trumpeter John D’earth (who played in Davis’ last concert in 1991) backed by a group that includes the twin keyboards of music faculty member Bob Hallahan and JMU alum Butch Taylor (formerly with the Dave Matthews Band). The program includes selections from Miles Davis’ revolutionary million-plus-selling album, Bitches Brew, which helped introduce rock and funk influences to jazz in the late 1960s, as well as other compositions from the fusion era by important Davis sidemen such as Joe Zawinul and Herbie Hancock. |
